Who we are

The Polycarpou family has been involved in livestock farming and traditional cheesemaking since the 19th century. Based in the village of Prastio Avdimou, Cyprus, we continue a long-standing family tradition built on quality, authenticity, and respect for our heritage.

Our sheep farm is home to approximately 2,000 Chios sheep, whose milk is used to produce our premium sheep dairy products. For our goat milk products, we work with carefully selected neighbouring farms that share our commitment to quality and animal welfare.

At A.P. Polycarpou & Sons Farm Ltd, we produce a range of award-winning traditional Cypriot dairy products, including 100% Sheep’s Halloumi, Sheep’s & Goat’s Halloumi, 100% Goat’s Halloumi, Mature Sheep’s Halloumi, Traditional Sheep Yoghurt, Fresh Anari, Fresh Trahana, and Flaouna Cheese.

Combining traditional methods with modern production standards, we remain dedicated to preserving the authentic taste of Cyprus while delivering products of exceptional quality that are recognized both locally and internationally.

We offer you pure and premium products by using our own milk from our dairy farm, carefully selected fresh mint and processing it in our own dairy with love and care. The products we produce are all handmade and based on the traditional recipe. We offer you 100% sheep Halloumi Cheese, 100% Sheep & goat’s Halloumi Cheese, mature 100% Sheep Halloumi Cheese. We also produce traditional sheep's yoghurt, Fresh trahana, Fresh Anari and ‘Flaouna’ cheese.

Halloumi cheese is the best known traditional Cyprus cheese, whilst it is also known in the surrounding area of the Middle East. Halloumi cheese has a particularity in color which is white, compared to most cheeses which have a yellowish color. Also, except from its uniqueness in color, it also has the peculiarity that it does not melt, you can fry it, cook it on the grill, boil it, and use it in soups, especially in trahana soup which is very popular in Cyprus. It can also be eaten fresh, like all the other kinds of cheese. Halloumi cheese is packed one by one in vacuum bag in order to keep it fresh until consumption.
